The Anatomy of JAB

The Anatomy of JAB: precision through extension, balance through alignment, and readiness through guard.

The Anatomy of JAB

Most people think a jab is simply a punch.

It isn’t.

And JAB isn’t an acronym. It’s our name — and an idea that shapes how we approach creative work.

Fun Fact: LEGO is not an acronym, though it is often capitalized. The company name comes from a contraction of the two Danish words “leg godt,” which mean “play well”.

In boxing, a good jab is built on three disciplines working together. Remove any one of them and the jab loses its effectiveness.

We bring the same qualities to every JAB Design engagement.

J — Precision

A jab lands because it is precise.

The arm extends directly towards its target, with no wasted movement and no unnecessary effort.

Likewise, we begin by understanding the real challenge before recommending solutions. Through research, diagnosis, and strategic thinking, our ideas are purposeful — not simply creative for creativity’s sake.

A good solution starts with asking the right questions.

A — Alignment

A jab does not draw its power from the arm alone.
The entire body must move in alignment—while maintaining the balance needed to stay controlled and effective.

That’s why successful branding isn’t just about design. Business objectives, stakeholders, customer insights and execution all need to work in alignment.

When everything moves together, every marketing dollar works harder.

B — Readiness

After every jab, the guard comes back up.
Not because the boxer has been hit.
Because the boxer is ready.

Ready to respond.
Ready to adapt.
Ready for what’s next.

At JAB Design, every project is designed to leave organisations better prepared for what comes next—whether that’s growth, change, new markets or new opportunities.

More Than a Name

JAB isn’t just our name.
It’s the way we think.

Precision to define the right problem.
Alignment to ensure every element works together.
Readiness to respond with confidence when opportunity arrives.

Because success isn’t about throwing more punches.
It comes from landing the right one.

Precision. Alignment. Readiness.
That’s the Anatomy of JAB.
